Over the weekend a lovable robot went head-to-head with graphic action flick, and even though it was a close race, “Wall-E”, the latest film to be created by Pixar, took the coveted spot with an estimated $62.5 million of tickets in its first three days. Trailing right behind “Wall-E” is “Wanted” which earned an impressive $51.1 million. What’s interesting is that both films helped pushed overall sales to their highest level of the year YAHOO reports
Due to the new entries on the chart, “Get Smart” falls from the top spot to number three, Paramount Pictures Kung Fu Panda secures it’s spot at number four, and The Incredible Hulk rounds out the top five with nine million bringing it’s Cumulative Gross to $115M.
