The genius that is Ryan Murphy.

Veteran scriptwriter Ryan Murphy gives us hope that not all faith is lost in the world of television today. Fox’s Glee brings back the wit and grit that’s been lacking in today’s society. Only a few episodes in and Glee characters make The The Adams Family and Munsters, look like regular everyday people.

With Ryan Murphy he continually pushes the envelop with his wacky and often complex characters. Often times when you hear the characters speak, you ask yourself “Did they really just say that?” and we love it!

Fans new with Murphy’s work may not be familiar the series that helped put the producer on the map. It was the-then WB’s Popular.

The cleverly written Popular dealt with the the social angst and pressures of high school. Popular won over audiences for memorable characters Merry Cherry, April Tuna and the schizo Nicole. It’s cancellation was a sad day for TV. It did develop a cult following shortly after , and to no surprise the dialogue is still fresh as it was 11 years ago. Hard to believe its been that long, isn’t it?

Had it debuted on TV today, you can bet it would be interesting to see how it would fair against today’s audience. Especially since teen sitcoms are bigger now than ever before. Way before its time I’m afraid.

Murphy’s other precious gem is the risque Niptuck-which makes it return in October. Ryan Murphy shows that it’s not all glitz and glamor in the cosmetology world. Niptuck follows the lives of go-to cosmetic surgeons Dr. Sean McNamara and Dr. Christian Troy.

TV Viewers can see Ryan Murphy work into action, when Glee airs tonight on FOX.
