Will Chris Rock bring it home with Good Hair?
Comedian Chris Rock is bringing a fresh perspective to the table with his informative and much talked about documentary Good Hair. The film was created to raise awareness about hair-related problems faced in the Black community. When you think about it, it’s almost alarming at how many little girls have perms and other harsh hair care products festered into their hair.
It’s not just girls that are having the same problems unfortunately. African American women both teenagers and adults are feeling the sting from products that are supposedly created to “help” hair.
Youtube veterans Lady Fro and Signatureshirtz gave some great insight on their personal experience of using natural products.
The beautiful Lady Fro breaks it down for the ladies with several helpful hair care related products including the Taliah WaaJid and Qhemet.
The stunning Signatureshirtz gives a natural hair care regimen tutorial for the ladies.
In this second video from Signatureshirtz, she expresses her thoughts and concerns on Good Hair.
Signatureshirtz poignant video made a lot of valid points. Are women really afraid to rock what was naturally given to them or is it really about “fitting in” with the general public?
There’s so many things that need to be addressed in Good Hair, but the reality of it, is that it probably won’t be. The main message that will hopefully be brought to light in Rock’s documentary- there is no such thing as good or bad hair.
Are you excited for Good Hair?
Feel free to express your thoughts as to why or why not in the comment section.
I would also love to hear what products you are using to keep your hair healthy as possible.
