On Make Me Janet Jackson swag is layered on thick. You want Ms. Jackson to make a move? You gotta make a great first impression. Make Me luscious “Oohs” aggressive “Cmons” and repeated scats are a witty ode to her late brother Michael Jackson. Make Me was produced by musical companion Rodney Jerkins(Brandy, Destiny Child). The connection between Jerkins and Jackson on the funky “Make Make” is eerily similar to her longtime producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.

Rodney Jerkins gets his proper dues for uncovering Janet’s in audible voice from previous songs ( see: So Excited ), and bring out Janet’s sweet, high-pitched voice that we all remember from Jackson’s earlier hits. Refreshing and a downright feel good track-this is the song fans have been waiting for. Expect Make Me to receive love on Rhythmic and Top 40.
