The girls from Sex and the City dominated the box office coming in at number one with 55million. The racy HBO series managed to win over fans for more than six seasons. Originally producers wanted to start filming in 2004 after the series came to an end. However, due to tension between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Catrall the deal fell through. The ladies finally reprise their roles, and began filming in September of last year.

From 1-2 is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The popular franchise managed to bring in 46 Million bringing its total to $216M. Also debuting this week was Universal Studio’s eerie horror flick The Strangers which came in at number three. The film stars Liv Tyler, Scott Speedman, and Gemma Ward.

Iorn Man still manages to hold strong at number four. Last month it debuted at number one with 98 Million, making it the tenth-biggest movie opening weekend of all time and the second highest-grossing opening weekend of 2008. Its current gross is $276M. Rounding out the top five is The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian with 13M.
