59-year-old Soul stirrer Teddy Pendergrass passed away on Wednesday night. The “Love TKO” singer had been hospitalized at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Teddy’s son, Teddy Pendergrass II, told ABC that his father was having a rather difficult recovery from recent colon cancer surgery.
Teddy Pendergrass was involved in automobile accident in 1982 which left him paralyzed from the waist down.
Teddy Pendergrass will always be remembered for his smooth voice and sound. Pendergrass has had a string of top hits on the US R&B Charts including “Close the Door”, “Turn Off the Lights”, “Joy” and “I Can’t Live Without You”.
