After disappointing sales of her last English album Rebirth(2005) Jennifer Lopez is looking to redeem herself with her sixth studio disc Brave and this time she’s hooked up with producers J.R. Rotem, Cory Rooney, Midi Mafia, and Ryan Tedder. When speaking with MTV back in June she said “Basically it’s just danceable music”. Her current single “Do It Well” isn’t fairing well on the charts, however with songs like “Stay Together” and “Mile In These Shoes” she may have a hit on her hands.
She released her debut CD at the age of thirteen, sold twenty-six million copies worldwide, and earned herself an Grammy for Best Country Song. Now that she’s in control, LeAnn Rimes is releasing her latest effort Family via Curb Records. “I’m just incredibly passionate about what I’m doing,” she says. “This album is almost like when I was 11 years old and realized I wanted to sing. There was nothing tainting it at the time. I just had this passion for music. Somewhere along the way that got lost. I think I’m that passionate again about what I’m doing. It’s a totally different level now, being able to create something from nothing.” The album features a guest spot from Marc Broussard.
Since parting ways with A&M records in 2005, Vanessa Carlton has toured with Stevie Knicks and has moved over to INC Records. READ HERE Thankfully for her fans, her move to the label hasn’t affected her signature sound. “It’s a pretty uplifting album with a lot of layers going on in,” Carlton says. “[There are] very complex arrangements but everything just makes me feel good and not in a simplistic way. It’s the most honest album I ever made, and it’s the only record I’ve made that I really look at as a body of work as opposed to a bunch of songs put together. I think that shows. It really does feel like a real album.”
