Over the years I’m sure you’ve read stories that are nothing short of remarkable. But this particular story is one for the ages. A woman risks her life in order to save that of another. Francisca Halamajow, a Polish-Catholic, was a courageous woman who saved the lives of several Jews. Francisca Halamajow had successfully pulled this feat by disguising herself as Nazi.
During the war, Franscia Halamjowa was a comforter, providing the Jewish families with both shelter and food. Additionally, Halamajow guarded two families from harm in a space above her pigsty, and also dug an hole underneath her kitchen floor.
No. 4 Street of Our Lady won GRAND PRIZE FOR BEST DOCUMENTARY at the Rhode Island International Film Festival.
