30.Madman: Madman Marz runs in the same vein as Friday 13th with it’s premise. Still it’s enjoyable. A typical B-horror flick that follows a couple of camp counselors who soon discover that they’re not alone in the woods.
29.April Fool’s Day: April Fool’s Day stands as one of 80′s horror most unforgettable offerings. When a couple of teenagers are invented to the house of a friend, things start to go awry. Why does April Fool’s Day qualify to be on the Halloween Horror Countdown? The twist-ending. We won’t give it away, but when you think about the title it makes sense. Clever.
28.Prom Night: Jamie Lee Curtius performance inProm Night isn’t nearly memorable as her portrayal as Laurie in 78′s Halloween. You have to give it to be Prom Knight though, it is effective horror film that keeps you guessing from beginning to end. In Prom Night, someone’s seeking revenge for a accident gone wrong, and the nominated queens are the main target.
27.Trolls: Ah, Trolls. Who could forget one of 80′s cheesy gems? Cheap budget and questionable scenes, earn Trolls the number 37 spot.
26.Speaking of cheesy, remember The Ghoulies? Some say it’s a ripoff of Gremlins, but who’s original in Hollywood nowadays? Demonic little creatures are out to wreak havoc. The surprising success of Ghoulies spawned several direct to video releases.
25.May: May is a cult classic. This indie horror film is more disturbing than Saw or Hostel could ever be. A brilliant performance by Angela Bettis. May’s cold ending still can bring chills down anyone spine.
24.The People Under The Stairs:: Insane would be putting this next film nicely. Before Wes Craven created the dismal Cursed, he created a unforgettable tale of scares and laughs. The People Under The Stairs follows the story of a little boy whose family is facing eviction. With a scheme to get cash from a raving lunatic family, Poindexter aka Fool and Leroy(Ving Rhames) get more than they bargained for. Did we forget to mention the family had serious problems? Cannibalism, S&M and incest are just a few things disturbing about this family.
23.The Fun House: What happens when teenagers go into a carnival ride that’s questionably creepy? All hells break loose.
22.Pumpkinhead: In Pumpkinhead, a grief stricken father makes a deal with a witch. He may have made a mistake, as the spell suddenly brings out demonic creature with a thirst for blood.
21.Critters: Critters are creatures from outer space. Yea, we said outer space. The 1986 film is hilariously campy, something you rarely see in horror films nowadays. After the success of the first Critters, the destructive fur balls went on to do more sequels.
