It’s certainly good times for vampires this year.
The new cult phenom The Vampire Diaries(CW) has been ordered and given a additional 13 episodes reports the Los Angeles Times.
So far, only three episodes of Kevin Williamson’s TV adaptation The Vampire Diaries have aired on The CW: Pilot(4.81) , Night of the Comet(3.78) and Friday Night Bites(3.80). Interestingly enough each of The Vampire Diaries episodes have shared a consistency in ratings- despite stiff competition TV debuts of Flash Forward (ABC) and The Good Wife(CBS) .
Not since the days of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and recently Supernatural(CW) has their been a horror television series on regular programming with such promise as The Vampire Diaries . Young actors Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley have done a tremendous job portraying the estranged brothers Damon Salvatore and Stefan Salvatore.
With a ratings win for CW , will the network explore into more darker territory in the future?
