Robert Rodriguez Gives Fans A Sneak Peak at Predator

Director Robert Rodriguez brings audiences his vision and update on the classic 80’s Horror/Sci-Fi Flick Predator.

Though it’s not slated to hit theaters till this summer, Robert Rodriguez however, gave fans a taste of what to expect in the 2010 film.

Based on the teaser alone, the new Predator film by Rodriguez is off to a promising start. But the big question here is: Will Predator fans be satisfied will Rodrguez’s final result? More sneak peaks and exclusives are expected to be shown by Robert Rodriguez closer to the release date. Joining the Predator cast are movie heavyweights Adrien Brody and Laurence Fishburn . Predators is slated to hit theaters on July 9th.

Indie Spotlight: 45365

From the churches to the football field and fairs-all of this and more is seen in the new film 45365. The candid documentary was directed by Turner Ross (Producer/DP) and Bill Ross (Producer/DP/Editor) in the small town of Sidney, Ohio.

45365 won the Grand Jury Award at the SXSW 2009 Film Festival . Screenings for 45365 began on February 26th at the Starz Denver Film Society in Colorado. Showings for the documentary will be seen several different states and played until June 24th at the Anthology Film Archives in NYC.

Indie Releases: No. 4 Street of Our Lady & New Muslim Cool

Over the years I’m sure you’ve read stories that are nothing short of remarkable. But this particular story is one for the ages. A woman risks her life in order to save that of another. Francisca Halamajow, a Polish-Catholic, was a courageous woman who saved the lives of several Jews. Francisca Halamajow had successfully pulled this feat by disguising herself as Nazi.

During the war, Franscia Halamjowa was a comforter, providing the Jewish families with both shelter and food. Additionally, Halamajow guarded two families from harm in a space above her pigsty, and also dug an hole underneath her kitchen floor.

No. 4 Street of Our Lady won GRAND PRIZE FOR BEST DOCUMENTARY at the Rhode Island International Film Festival.

The epic documentary was directed by filmmakers Judy Maltz, Barbara Bird and Richie Sherman.

Another indie film that’s receiving buzz is New Muslim Cool, directed by Jennifer Maytorena Taylor.

Puerto Rican rapper and former drug dealer Hamza Pérez is a now a Father decides who decides to change his old ways and in turn converts to a Muslim. With Hamaza being a single father of the two children, Perez longs for one thing-kove. Eventually, Hamaza does find it when he meets the love of his life through a Muslim networking website.

Also in New Muslim Cool, Perez must come to terms with certain aspects in his life such as Post 9/11, and meeting people from other religious communities.
