Listen: Jah Cure-Unconditional Love

Jamaica born reggae artist Jah Cure, whose real name is Siccaturie Alcock, was bestowed with a voice contained with such raw emotion.

Cure’s humble beginnings began when he experienced dance halls and concerts at a young ahe. It was at those festivities, Jah Cure would see the Reggae greats such as Bob Marley and Marcia Griffith.

Things were looking optimistic for a young Cure, the 32-year-old was able to tour in Europe and release his material to the masses. Unfortunately, Cure caught a bad break when he was sentenced to prison for 15 years in 1999. Jah Cure’s time in prison helped him to reflect mentally and emotionally. The material that John Cure wrote while in confinement would later be used for a CD in 2001.

Writing 2 more studio albums later, Jah Cure would be a free man in 2007. In celebration, his fourth studio album would come out a week later. Now having a more clear outlook on life, Cure still continues on with his music endeavors. The most recent effort from the reggae artist is the 2009 disc The Universal Cure.

Most recently, Jah Cure has put out “Unconditional Love”, which has subtle blend of genres Latin and Reggae. The universal love ballad is carried by a guitar and strings. “Unconditional Love”, ranks as one of the best slow songs to come out so far in 2010.
