Precious/Lee Daniels

Mo’nique can now add “Golden Globe Winner” on her resume. The big question here is: Did she deserve her Golden Globe win? Most definitely. Her role as the abusive and uncaring mother to Precious(Gabourey Sidibe) showed Mo’nique had range as an actress. With her new found win, an Oscar award may very well be in her sights. The Voluptuous beauty broke out as a stand up comedian. Since then Mo’nique has kept audiences laughing with her TV sitcom “The Parkers”, ” and now on her brand new late night talk show “Mo’nique”.

The Blind Slide/Warner Bros.

No complaints on Sandra Bullocks’ win for “Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama”. Would’ve it been nice to see Gabourey Sidibe(Precious) take it home? Truthfully, Yes. But this award has been a long time coming for the 45-year-old actress. Sandra Bullock, like actress Mo’nique, has always been known for her comedy roles. However, Bullock trades the laughs for a more serious role as nurturing mother in the “The Blind Side”.

Sherlock Holmes/Warner Bros.

Robert Downey Jr. has proven that he can portray any charachter in a film. To no one’s surprise, the veteran actor walked away with a Golden Globe for “Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical Film”. So, while we have no objections to Downey’s win, there is someone else deserving of that award as well- Joseph Gordon-Levitt in “500 Days of Summer”.

One of the toughest categories of the night, AMC’s “Mad Men” edged out “True Blood” and “Dexter” for “Best Television Drama”. Fans are not only watching the show for the fashion. The story lines and characters of “Mad Men” make it must watch TV.
