Halloween of Horror Countdown: 1-10

The heavyweights in Horror dominate the Halloween of Horror Countdown

Bizzom brought you a complied list of the most entertaining horror films. 30-21 & 20-11 can be viewed at the links provided. Today is the revealing of the top 10 horror films on our list.

10. Sure Quarantine is a remake of a original film, but it’s a damn good remake. The shaky camerawork may or may not suit everyone’s taste. But it worked well for this horror film. The zombies are quick and uncontrollable. Once the pace picks up, this is where things start to get intense. Final moments of Quarantine will either have you talking or tight lipped soon as the credits roll.

9.Christmas is far from “merry” in 74′s Black Christmas . The slash flick revolves around a mysterious killer who lives the basement of a sorority house. The girls who stay inside the home are picked off mysteriously one by one. One of the reasons why Black Christmas is so effective is due to its dark nature and eerie presence. Just barely do you get a glimpse of the movie’s villain .

8. Dimension films were on a roll in the 90′s. From Dusk Till Dawn had action, humor and plenty of gore rolled all into one. The gritty vampire story had a well rounded cast. This included Quentin Tarantino, George Clooney, Salma Hayek, and Juliette Lewis.

7. So bad it’s good. A guilty pleasure so to speak. My Bloody Valentine stays true to its title. The masked murder with the pickaxe is picking off lovesick teenagers.

6.Countless of teen slashers have imitated the formula of Friday 13th but none have quite matched its success. Mama Voorhees was revealed as the killer in the original film, but her son Jason Voorhees carried on the tradition. Friday 13th brought to the horror table some creative and downright brutal death scenes.

5. Scream revived the horror genre in the mid 90′s. Wes Craven hit the jackpot again once with a film that was so clever and scary at the same time. Scream’s opening sequence featuring actress Drew Barrymore is a certified classic amongst fans.

4. Relatively low budget horror film directed by the Tobe Hooper. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre gained a huge cult following and a bit of controversy, after its release in 70′s. The certain realism of Texas Chainsaw Massacare plays a factor of it being so widely successful. From a viewers perspective you could imagine something so sadistic happening to you.

3. The walking dead roam unmercifully in the cinema classic Night of the living Dead . It may have not have been the first film, but the release of Night of the Living Dead made viewers take note of flesh eating zombies. Honorable mention goes to the 90′s remake where screenwriter George A. Romero teams up with horror vet Tom Savini.

2. Wes Craven introduced audiences to Freddy Kruger in the early 80′s. Before Freddy did a complete 180 in later films, A Nightmare on Elm Street portrayed Freddy as a creepy, five fingered slasher, who invaded the dreams of innocent teenagers.

1. Halloween topping the list should come as a surprise to no one. John Carpenter crafted his finest piece of work with the release of “Halloween”. Decades later, the knife wielding, masked manic Micheal Myers can still put fear in audiences. The incredible role of Dr. Loomis was played the late Donald Pleasence and heroine Laurie was played by Jamie Lee Curits.

1image That Joke is Like So 1996

Melissa Joan Heart suffered a bad break this week when she was cut loose from Dancing With the Stars(ABC) on Tuesday. Things couldn’t have gotten worse when her interview with Jimmy Kimmel quickly turned from cute to ugly .

In the video posted, Jimmy makes a lighthearted reference to “magic” (referring to Heart’s days as a witch on the hit comedy Sabrina:The Teenage Witch ) helping Joan Hart throughout the dancing. competition. Clearly Melissa wasn’t too impressed with Kimmel’s commentary responding with a snarly reply “Whoa Whoa ,that joke is like 1996″. Kimmel strikes back “So are you”. Maybe that wasn’t the smartest moves on Melissa’s part and judging by her facial reaction, she realized it.
